    Doc Cams in Math
    Mark and Eva,

I received this message via email and thought I'd share it here:

You may want to think about one addition for the math classroom. Dr. Fred Jones, a classroom behavior specialist, http://www.fredjones.com/ , talks about a method he calls "see, say, do". This is doing a math problem one step at a time. Duh, but the difference is he restarts the problem each time he adds a new step. So, a problem with four steps would be started four times. Each example adds only one step to the process. This allows a student to figure our exactly where they are stuck. So, if a problem were modeled in this way, on one sheet of paper, it could easily be displayed with the camera while students work some practice problems. The teacher uses the examples to help the student figure out where they are stuck - instead of doing the work for them.

no time to reread this I hope it makes sense.
